Counselling for Immigrants and Refugees

Provided by Vancouver Island Counselling Centre for Immigrants and Refugees (VICCIR)
The service:
- Reduces the debilitating symptoms of trauma;
- Increases the personal resiliency and self-mastery required to improve their quality of life; and
- Helps them find within themselves an eagerness to participate in the communities that welcome each of them.
- VICCIR charges fees to help cover its operating costs. The fee structure is designed to provide affordability and remove barriers to accessing their services.
- Fees for services are discussed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the needs and circumstances of the individual and the family.
- Refugee clients who meet the IFHP (Interim Federal Health Program) requirements receive services at no cost during the first year of settlement.
- Please note that the fees for services are waived for some clients who match their grant requirements.
- Fees are discussed with clients upon initial contact. Higher rates may apply for couples and family therapy sessions.
